Victoria “Vic” Smith brings a competitive playing background and a growth-focused mindset to her coaching. I like to challenge athletes to step outside their comfort zones so they can expand their skill sets and confidence. Vic believes that meaningful development happens when players are pushed thoughtfully and supported through the process.

Vic has coached throughout her college career, working primarily with athletes ages 14–18. She previously coached with Summit North in Sherman, Texas (now Texoma Flyers), serving as the head coach for the 18s team in 2022 and co-coaching the 15s team in 2023, with both teams qualifying for AAU Nationals. She also floated between teams during the 2021 and 2024 seasons, gaining experience across multiple age groups and competitive levels.

As a player, Vic competed at the collegiate level both indoors and on the sand. While at Austin College, she earned Third-Team All-Conference honors twice during her four-year indoor career. She later competed in beach volleyball at Texas Wesleyan, where she was named First-Team All-Conference and to the All-Conference Tournament Team during her sole season. Vic is currently completing her MBA while finishing her final season of collegiate indoor volleyball.

Even though we all want to win, losses are where we truly learn and grow, Vic says. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes accountability, resilience, and learning how to respond to adversity—lessons that help athletes improve not only as players, but as competitors and people.
