Caitlin Watson believes coaching is about far more than the game itself—it’s about giving back and helping young athletes grow both on and off the court. I believe every player has unique strengths, and my goal is to build confidence, teamwork, and a genuine love for volleyball. Her approach centers on developing complete athletes in an environment that values unity, effort, and shared success.
Caitlin’s love for volleyball began in high school, where she and her twin sister helped lead their team to the state tournament for the first time in school history. She earned First Team All-District honors and went on to continue playing club volleyball at Arizona State University, further expanding her understanding of the game. She began her coaching career over 10 years ago in the North Texas region and has since worked with athletes of all ages and skill levels. One of the most rewarding parts of coaching is seeing former players go on to compete at the collegiate level—or return years later to share memories from our time together.
Volleyball remains a big part of Caitlin’s life today, as she continues to play regularly—primarily sand volleyball—staying connected to the sport she loves while inspiring the next generation of athletes.
Coaching Philosophy
Caitlin’s coaching philosophy is cross-training athletes across multiple positions. By learning different roles, players become more versatile and gain a deeper understanding of the game, she explains. This approach builds adaptability, resilience, and trust among teammates while reinforcing the importance of a “we over me” mindset—pushing one another, celebrating collective success, and learning the value of true team culture.
