Coach Carter moved to North Texas in Fall 2022 after playing Division 1 Collegiate Volleyball at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (2018- 2021). She received a full-ride as a setter and played in college as a serving and defensive specialist as well.

She has coached all age groups from 9s to 18s and has extensive experience working with the younger groups (9s-13s). Her expertise is in setting, defense, and serving, in the addition to developing the volleyball IQ of players. She is extremely passionate about the sport and her teams – attempting to have the largest impact on them as players, teammates, and proud members of the community. She likes to make working hard fun and something our athletes look forward to every practice!

She grew up in McAllen, Texas and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) with her M.B.A. with a Marketing Concentration. When she is not coaching she enjoys spending her free time playing sand volleyball.

Coaching Philosophy

Every athlete that steps into the gym should feel safe, seen, and appreciated. Young athletes need to be surrounded by positivity and be reminded they play for the love of the game.

I believe in guiding athletes to strive to become the best teammates they can be – constantly pushing their limits and competing with their teammates to challenge themselves. The role of a coach depends on the individuality of the athlete and I make sure to understand and fill my role as needed.

All I ask is that athletes bring their best attitude and give their maximum effort to train. Learning how to play a sport or improve a skill takes time and cannot be done overnight. In order to see slow gradual improvement, I always ask my players to focus on every rep and embrace the journey.

“Make everyone around you better when you step on the court.”

“Get 1% better every rep.”
